Frederick Lake (1883–1937) was one of the hockey’s first professional players. Primarily playing as a Left Wing and later at Defence, his career spanned from 1902 to 1915 across several leagues, including the International Professional Hockey League (IPHL), the Eastern Canada Amateur Hockey Association (ECHA), and the National Hockey Association (NHA).

He spent his most notable years with the Ottawa Senators (then known as the Ottawa Hockey Club), where he won two Stanley Cups in 1909 and 1911. Before joining Ottawa, he played for several teams, including the Portage Lakes Hockey Club, Winnipeg Maple Leafs, and Pittsburgh Keystones. Lake was known for his rough play at times, even being released by the Pittsburgh Athletic Club for that very reason.
